Exploring the Art Scene in Hays County: Pet Policy and More

Hays County is a vibrant hub for the visual arts, and the Government Center is no exception. The county respects freedom of expression in the visual arts, but reserves the right to remove or relocate works of art at its sole discretion. The exhibition of works of art does not create a public forum. The Hays County Fine Art Insurance Policy covers works of art loaned to the county for display while they are on premises under the care of county personnel.

The county will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of works of art loaned to it, but is not responsible for damage or theft, except in cases covered by the fine art insurance policy. The organization or artist lending the artwork assumes all uncovered risks. The Art Committee will select works of art that are appropriate and appropriate in subject matter and quality for the functions of the Hays County Government Center. If the Art Committee receives a complaint stating that a particular work of art is mocking, vulgar, rude, or offensive to visitors, they will review the complaint and make a decision to move or remove the work that is the subject of the complaint.

Registration has already started for art classes at the Inspired Minds Art Center, which are available for all ages. An organization or individual wishing to exhibit an exhibition at the Hays County Government Center must submit a proposal to the Art Committee. If the Arts Committee decides to appoint a selection panel, its members may include county staff and community representatives. If approved in writing by the building manager, the Art Committee may allow the lender to dismantle an exhibition or assist the Art Committee in dismantling and removing all works of art and other components from an exhibition.

Each organization or artist lending works of art for display at the Hays County Government Center must submit a full loan agreement to the Art Committee. If approved in writing by the building manager, the Art Committee may allow a lender to install the exhibition under the supervision of the Art Committee or provide at least one person to help set up the exhibition by the Art Committee. The Art Committee may reschedule or cancel an exhibition at its sole discretion at any time before the start date of the exhibition. The facility will include a gallery for local artists to exhibit their works, an open studio for them to work, and classrooms to offer their skills to the community.

The organization or artist lending works of art for an exhibition at the Hays County Government Center shall provide an appropriate replacement, subject to approval by the Art Committee, for works of art removed from an exhibition prior to its completion. The Art Committee may invite organizations or individuals to submit a proposal for an exhibition at the Government Center. The works of art on display at the Hays County Government Center may be for sale by the organization or artist lending them, provided that they remain on display until the end of the exhibition. So what about pets? Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in any of Hays County's galleries or museums.
